Hi guys,

Newbie question here. I am looking to buy a heart rate monitor compatible with the peloton bike.

As far as I know it just need to be ANT+ compatible.

Online reviews seem to point that Polar is the best option

What about this as a budget option?

What is everyone else here using?

Thanks! Appreciate any input

Welcome!

If you have a Bike+ a lot of people use the Apple Watch since it's compatible.

If you're using the standard bike, a lot of people including me use the Scosche Rhythm+. It's very accurate and a lot of people prefer the armband as it's more comfortable than a chest strap. If you search for coupons online there are typically some for 15% or more.

Chest heart rate monitors are obtrusive while riding and they lose the heart rate easily when you sweat. I tried the Peloton chest heart rate monitor and it’s terrible. I ended up with a Scosche arm band that connects immediately and works beautifully! Here’s the link:

I switched to the Scosche Rhythm+ arm HR monitor. I found that the chest strap gets itchy and annoying on hot days. I tested the Scosche against my chest monitor and found it to be dead on accurate. It works perfectly with my Peloton and on my road bike with my Garmin bike computer, and its much easier to put on and take off. The battery is great and I get many rides before a charge is needed.

I think that you can always find these for a good price on Amazon or any shopping website. Did you get your peleton bike yet? Did you plan on how to move a peleton bike yet? I bought mine last year, and I got help from a delivery service. They helped me out a lot because there's no way I could have gotten that bike through my small door. I live in a rather big apartment, but the designer just somehow decided that a small door frame would be the best... haha. Anyways, some nice choices you made there, buying both the peleton heart monitor and the bike!

If you have an Apple Watch- I’m using Watch Link. Works great.
