Is this company really for sustainable energy and reducing our carbon footprint? Are they really interested in our wellbeing?? I have to ask myself these questions because I BELIEVE that actions speak louder than words. A little over a year ago we were moving back into our home after rebuilding from a tornado. Our screen on our Peloton bike was cracked in the move. It's just a slight crack and otherwise works fine, but we would like to fix it before it gets worse. We contacted our local Ubreakifix to schedule a repair. To our surprise, they do not service Peloton and cannot get any of the parts to fix their screens. Our next call was to Peloton. Even with just a slight crack, you are required to replace the ENTIRE touchscreen unit! There is NO option for repair! That's $500!
I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and time to catch up with Apple, Amazon, Samsung & the too many to list companies who have partnered with Ubreakifix. Now, a year later...they are still holding strong & requiring a full replacement of the touchscreen unit. I have also contacted ALL of my local e-recycle services, and NO ONE is able to refurbish or replace the glass on these units. To me, this seems more about the opportunity to make $$ than to reduce waste and our carbon footprint. Even worse, it seems more about making sure they get the most $$ out of it's users rather than enabling them to have sustainable and financially responsible options.
