The bike and Tread definitely do work with Strava. Connect Your Peloton Account to Strava for More Motivation | The Output
As a cyclist it works great as the miles I ride on the Peloton are added to the miles I ride outside. It also adds any other workouts and works well with the Strava Summit premium features to show things like Relative Effort and Fitness.
