High Output

I am seeing extreme high outputs on the leaderboard. I am in fairly good shape and do the 45-60 min rides. I finished 2 live 45 min rides and my output was 539 and 550 for 45 min. The leader in one was over 2,400 and the other one over 1,700. Just trying to figure out how that is possible.

Thanks in advance for the explanations!

Those are probably bogus. Of course there are some super strong people out there but numbers that high are probably due to bikes that are very badly calibrated.

Bad calibration. I did Leanne's 20 min 70s session ride this morning, my output was 207 for third place. #1's output was 820kj...lol.

If they have the regular bike the numbers are way higher than the bike+. If you’ve read other comments re: new bike the calibration supposedly more accurate therefore numbers down. I noticed it immediately when I got bike+.

they crank up the resistance and try to keep up with an steady pace. Simply put they do not follow the class routine which in my opinion is pointless since you invested in a high end bike with monthly classes to just not follow the programs. So, they are cheating and cheating themselves by not following a class decided to target a particular component of a workout. Also, probably bots. Anyway, I don't care about the leaderboard, my only competition is against myself not against some list that can be fake.
SLMspinner is a cheater. In April 2022 she had barely a 100 output on rides. As of July she is number one on leaderboards and it shows here riding at 100% resistance. Someone needs to protect the integrity of the leaderboard.
Best way to really know who is cheating is to look and see if they have a strive (heartbeat) score with their output. Most of the riders with unusually high outputs don’t have strive scores because those are hard to fake.

As someone who ignores the class and goes as hard as I can for the entire class, I can assure you I am not "cheating" myself. My workout is significantly more difficult than yours and as a result, I am a much better cyclist than you. Its great to see these weak people try to handwave away their betters as cheaters or bots and that they "don't care about the leaderboard". Well Dan, the truth is, we don't care about you and your mediocre ride and fitness.
