Got my Bike+ six weeks ago. When I first tried to use the headphone jack, it didn't work, and the sound continued out of the Peloton screen's speakers. Support offered a handlebar swap and I scheduled that. I unplugged and replugged the cables a few times and the headphones worked. So I canceled the support call. A few days ago, the headphone issue reared its head again. I plugged and unplugged the cables a few times and the headphones started working again. Oddly, when I do this, I can always hear the headphone "crackle" in my ears, but for some reason, the audio does not disconnect from the speakers and route to the headphones.

The obvious answer is to reinstate the support call but was wondering if anyone here had any suggestions.

I had the same problem. I discovered that the technician had not fully plugged in the terminal on the back of the touchscreen. Look on the back of the touchscreen. At the bottom you should see a couple of wires connecting the touchscreen to the handlebar. One of them will have a headphones icon. Ensure that the plug is fully inserted in the receptacle.

Just got off the phone with Peloton Support with the same issue.
Was told to unplugged bike and cables behind screen. Plugged all the cables back in.
Peloton Headphone still didn't work but a pair of Sony headphones work just fine.
Tried the Peloton headphones on laptop and they worked just fine.. hmmm.
