Do you think those who ride hard during cool down:

When the instructor finishes the ride with a minute or so remaining for cool down, I am noticing some riders continue riding hard and are moving up in the leadership ranking. Isn’t the ride technically over? I was just neck and neck with somebody during a 30 min HIT and this dude kept going hard during cool down and jumped 2 points ahead of me in the last minute. Curious to hear other opinions on whether they think these riders are taking advantage just to increase their output ranking, or if it’s fair game until 00:00 time is left. More so for shits and giggles but am definitely curious to hear people’s thoughts! I think they’re cheaters 💯😂

I usually do cool down at the cool down portion of the ride. The exceptions would be if I'm going for a PR - in that case, I'll go hard until the end. The other might be if I were close to hitting some target number like 500KJ or something. If I'm just competing with folks on the leaderboard I do cool down at the end as I figure if I'm ahead when the cool down begins I've won. If someone else wants to go hard and pass me during the cool down whatever.

And by the way I'm a huge Tom Brady fan:)

It doesn't bother me. I will go hard for the whole ride sometimes as one minute to cool down isn't enough for me anyway. If I do a hard ride I always try to follow it with a 5 or 10 minute cool down ride.

I find those people to be not quite cheaters but annoying. If you're going for a PB I understand but otherwise chill out during the cool down period...

I think it's part of the fun, honestly, and when you are ahead it's up to you to keep it that way until the end.

I think Peloton doesn’t really promote the leaderboard ranking stats because it’s not very accurate to begin with. My comment is merely a thought/suggestion in ways to help improve on this ranking metric ie. Cool down means cool down!

You are contradicting your position on this. Whether they’re going for the leaderboard or a (PB - what is that?) it doesn’t matter either way. Cool down means cool down so those who are not “cooling down” are skewing the ranking metric.

I like Brady too, referencing him here I think helps me make my point more pronounced 😉

It's their workout they can do whatever they want. It counts for nothing. The leader board is just there as motivation.

On the power rides there are people on the board who are clearly not staying in the zones targeted for the ride. They grind and mash it out no matter the zone. Again, nothing you can do about it.
