thank you! I've paused my membership so I don't have anyway to look at the new changes. But this inspires me to unpause my membership! thanks again35 timed rides: three 60 min, two 45 min, six 30 min, five 20 min, eight 15 min, and eleven 10 min, plus the 7 new distance rides (four 10 km, three 5 km) and the 3 new guided tours (one 20 min, and two 30 min).
They said they were going to increase the number when they changed the format of the scenic rides. But this is still in no way the amount and variety they had.35 timed rides: three 60 min, two 45 min, six 30 min, five 20 min, eight 15 min, and eleven 10 min, plus the 7 new distance rides (four 10 km, three 5 km) and the 3 new guided tours (one 20 min, and two 30 min).
This is so disappointing. Has anyone contacted Peloton (or received feedback)?I am unbelievably upset right now.
I joined Peloton for the scenic ride feature.
I'm not a classes guy; I like to ride the bike through peloton scenery for 30, 45 or 60 minutes EVERY DAY. The variety of rides AND the leaderboard have sustained me. I've dropped 30 pounds in the last couple of months. I've looked forward to my daily rides.
UNTIL YESTERDAY
Peloton's new scenic ride "improvements" are anything but an improvement for me...
My 30, 45 and 60 minute options have dwindled from 50 or 60 to a handful.
The distance options are useless because the longest ride is 10K (much less than my standard ride)
AND worst of all...there's NO LEADERBOARD.
That's the feature I've relied on to keep myself grinding and competitive during rides.
PLUS it lets me know if I'm behind or ahead of my PR pace.
Now I've been told through an online chat with customer "support," that the Leaderboard is no longer a feature on the new scenic rides.
And I now know that all my previous scenic ride options are gone.
Poof!
In what universe, did they think this would be good for their loyal subscribers?
I get that they wanted to come up with some new bells and whistles, but these new tech wrinkles should have been in addition to what already existed, not at their expense.
I'm so disappointed in Peloton; especially after I've been raving about it since getting my bike in December.
I hope they'll add more options in the 30, 45 and 60 minute range and that you re-instill the leaderboard feature.
Otherwise, I will probably get bored quickly and abandon ship soo.
On the bright side, at least I don't have a treadmill. So I won't get mangled while exercising.
Sincerely,
A dissatisfied, formerly-rabid Peloton supporting subscriber

Thank you for posting this! Couldn’t agree with you more😁 I have done everything from sign petition, write email and tweet about it! So I will definitely check these out but I also agree that they should make this right by us, immediatel!I also had joined Peloton and bought a dumb expensive bike for the scenic rides. I had just found several new rides that had little easter eggs like mountain goats etc. Then poof....they were all gone. I didn't read all 187 posts, so this may have already been said, but found out that the scenic rides were from a different company called Virtual Active. You can actually subscribe to that app for I think $99/year or $10/month to get all the scenic videos. But here's the BS...you obviously can't get them on your Peloton screen. There is apparently a hack to access the Android tablet and download the app, but my bike is still under warranty and I'm not willing to risk something going wrong. Since I already pay $39/month for a subscription to Peloton (and by the way, why don't they have a "single" plan??), they should refund me a portion for taking away the majority of what I use the bike for...the scenic rides. I hate the instructor led classes. I think Peloton should offer a discount so I can pay for the Virtual Active videos that was once included on my plan. Then make the app available on the peloton/android tablet. I suspect they had a falling out with Virtual Active and then couldn't bring themselves to do the right thing by their customer. I actually have a letter I drafted a few months ago with all this, but have yet to send it. Finding this thread has inspired me to follow through with that. I'll try to remember to post an update on this thread if I get anywhere. Not very hopeful.
I haven't touched my bike since they deleted the old scenic rides! I LOVED THEM! I hate classes and the new scenaic rides are not at all the same. I personally loved the 10-20 minute rides because I'm trying to overcome some automimmune issues and the shorter rides eally motivated and helped me. The new rides are not at all "scenic" to me and much too long. And yes, I miss the leaderboard. I at least knew someone else was riding with me.I am unbelievably upset right now.

OMG, thanks you for posting this!!!! I just signed upa nd suddenly, all of my favorite scenic rides are available again. The music is different and I have to stream on an ipad or TV, but at least they are back!Thank you for posting this! Do you mean you signed up for Virtual Active, and thats where your old rides were, just clarifying😊?OMG, thanks you for posting this!!!! update after 5 months… I actually canceled my subscription shortly after my post as it felt like things at peloton were going the wrong way…basically all the things I really liked about it were disappearing. still love the quality of the bike and bought an iPad holder that mounts on the handlebar… will check again in 6mo to see if things have improved.First post... I joined the forum to add my voice here... 1+ year bike owner who was a brand fanatic... 100 ride pin, was going to buy a tread+ (right at the time they became impossible to get) etc.
We were a Peloton family and scenic rides were maybe my favorite feature of Peloton. After a couple month hiatus from a knee injury, I log in and find they are now just beyond terrible. Tonight I chose Seville Spain and ended the ride halfway through in disgust- terrible scenery, terrible music. I chose Santa Monica last night, and while bearable... the fun was gone, the scenery was meh (pretty tough thing to do in socal).
I literally had a friend that was going to buy a Peloton bike on my recommendation and I called them tonight and told them to hold until i could reacquaint myself and shared the story of the scenic rides.
JMO of course, but this is how a company loses it's segment dominance... one customer at a time.
I've also enjoyed the scenic rides, especially on days when I just want to cruise and have a lighter workout. When things like this happen ... chasing down the root cause will help w/ our concerted effort to restore the features we love. And most of the time it comes down to money. It must cost Peloton more to have/keep those features (license fees per each scenic ride?) than they think it's worth. I agree it's a disgrace. And Peloton should not try to spin it as "new and improved" ... it only adds insult to injury. @Peloton: do the right thing and restore those features! This is an absolute disgrace. The scenic rides took you away somewhere completely different depending on your mood. The variety was its greatest attribute. No justification for removing the old rides. Only a concerted effort here will change this.
EVERYBODY must complain
I would think it would be easy to add back all of the old Scenic rides to create a bigger catalog.I've also enjoyed the scenic rides, especially on days when I just want to cruise and have a lighter workout. Future goals should include the major cities of Europe (really the world) that identify historical buildings and monuments. In addition, add the major National national parks of America...
Scenic rides are my favorite type of ride. My brain gets bored looking at an instructor on a bike.
[/QUO.
I’ve been posting my / our disappointment with pelotons mangement since the first removal of the scenic rides. Although scenic rides have somewhat been restored I can fathom the idea that the old and new could be restored easily! There is a MAJOR DISCONNECT between the Mangement and it’s subscribers . As noted by hundreds of people who have signed a partition and who have complained their disappointment THEY WANT MORE SCENIC RIDES !! It’s not about money as one person outlined. There’s no cost involved to 3rd parties for filming in National parks, cities, rural areas of America, trails etc. there is Shirley music royalties to be paid but peloton has that locked up with artist for their spin classes. It can surely be applied to the scenic rides. There are hundreds if not thousands of beautiful areas in the US so long that could be used for scenic rides. Some of the scenic rides that are on our Peloton screens now could not be considered “scenic” this just comes down to poor management and not giving its customers what it wants.
