@flynmoose you legend I was trying to figure out the part # from photos, I have just ordered and will attempt the repair. Did you (or anyone) get it working again?

Cool thanks. I had a revelation today and realised that the headphone jack that connects external headphones is the same component so swapped the broken jack with this one - I use Bluetooth anyway so not an issue. My cadence and resistance both finally working again after more than a year!
