So I've been reading some subreddits claiming that many at-home installers don't know how to calibrate the bike properly. In the studio classes, the bikes are recalibrated roughly every ten days, so adjustments may be made as you begin to climb in rides. You should be given recalibration tools during the initial delivery and setup. Be sure to ask for them.

Found a good article that goes over some of the things involved in calibration. Basically what you are adjusting is the amount of space between the magnets and the flywheel. This will affect the level of resistance when peddling. Improper calibration means your resistance setting wont match what you actually experience. https://whoismostmacho.com/2018/02/14/peloton-bike-calibration/

So how often do you guys think the bike will need to be adjusted? Or will that be dependent on how often its being used and if by more than one person? Seems like there are quite a lot of steps in doing so, so I hope its not very often.

If the bike is setup properly from the initial delivery, its not something you should have to do for at least several months. Could also depend on the level of classes you're doing and how aggressive they are. Use the resistance and cadence gauges to determine if things are off.

Just wanted to mention too that if you are riding without a HD monitor that its going to be hard to track/measure your progress accurately and make adjustments to your bike accordingly. In the past you could also look up other peoples rides to see how your results compare.

I guess its a good thing Peloton studios have started to open up which could have only happened with bikes going straight to customers initially. Who knows, with more studio spaces around it could mean less hassle of an at-home system and more studio time.

A studio class provides a good initial look at the quality of the bike and the given expertise of their trainers. Some will probably prefer the social aspect to it as well. In the long term though its going to be end up being more expensive however.

The social aspect is likely something that a lot of people will prefer, and its easier to spend more money over a longer period of time, rather than all upfront. On a trial basis a studio session could be the deciding factor in buying one for home use.

apparently they do BUT mine was not supplied and the tool is out of stock - why ????

Simple task to ensure basic items are ALWAYS in stock and i am fed up of hearing C-19 is to blame for bad service/bad stock control and appalling attention to details....
