Peloton guide not compatible with bike monitor

I talked to someone at a Peloton store and was told that the new Peloton Guide requires a separate monitor, it won't work with the monitor on the bike. One of the reasons I purchased the bike+ is for the larger monitor, and the ability to do all my workouts using that monitor, simply swiveling it around when I take for example strength classes. It really sucks that I won't be able to add the Peloton Guide to my setup, because a separate monitor is not an option for me :( And setting up the Guide in another room where I have a TV would mean I'd have to drag my weights back and forth ... no, thank you!
I think this is a major oversight on Peloton's behalf and a big disappointment. It shows that they are more interested in bringing new customers to the platform (new subscriptions!) than providing additional benefits to paying subscribers who are already on their platform.

Nope. They never said it connected to either bike (no video input). you can buy a cheap TV and stick on the wall

I wish it was that simple. I have zero wall space available in my workout area :( I'd have to drop a monitor down from the ceiling, or install a projector and a retractable screen... none of these are viable options.
