Power Zone Training

I've made sporadic but solid progress in my riding performance over the past couple years, and have recently gotten hooked on the power zone training. Does anyone have a training program for this feature? The Power Zone introduction program is good, but I've advanced beyond it and am looking for a program that recommends # and length of endurance rides, versus regular per week/month, etc. I'm figuring it out, but curious if others have found (or developed) a good program to follow. Thanks!

Hi,

I've done my FTP test and a few PZ rides but haven't gotten too into it yet.

A couple of suggestions:
-There is a facebook group called Power Zone Pack which has frequent challenges and publishes programs like this one http://bit.ly/zonewars3rideschecklist
-There is a website which hosts challenges and programs called Power Zone Pack I believe a lot of the features require the subscription fee but you could sign up for a month or two while you're doing a challenge.

Peloton should definitely put more programs on the bike itself as it is a common request!

Please let us know what you end up finding!

I'm very new to the Bike but really like Power Zone classes as well. The last couple I've taken, one with Olivia and one with Matt, they have made brief mention of an upcoming PZ training program. I can't find much info on it but hopefully they'll be coming out with something soon!
I hope so too. I like the Power Zone classes too!
I'm using the Power Zone training to help stay on track with the aerobic capacity training in the Maffetone Method (Method - Dr. Phil Maffetone). There's a lot of evidence that threshold heart rate training and building base and is a really effective way to train. Better than HIIT or high zone duration training. Would like to learn more about the science behind the PZ training concept -- The recommended PZ training programs don't really explain the why. Any thoughts or recommendations here would be appreciated.

That program looks interesting. Do you have to pay to do the program?

Its a simple protocol to follow and anyone can apply the Maffetone Method to endurance training. You will need a heart monitor. I've been using it for most rides over the past month - building a base of fitness - and decided to push it this past Saturday for a 45 min class. Crushed my 45 min PR.
Congrats on the PR. Interesting. Do you pay for anything on there or just use the free stuff?
