There are pedals you can get that have which have cages on one side but I would recommend getting her biking shoes. It can be hard to get used to being clipped in on a regular bike but on a Peloton you won't fall over, etc. so it's pretty easy to get used to.

It is possible to use tennis shoes on the flat pedals but wouldn't recommend it as it can be dangerous if she pedals standing up and slips off she could get hurt.
