I actually am a lawyer. When you purchase from Peloton, you waive your right to a class action. It’s obviously not bullet proof (see tread claims) but difficult to win, takes forever and your lawyer will take a huge chunk of any earnings (class action lawyers are typically paid a percentage of the settlement). You have to have a pretty decent number of parties willing to join you, too. I would happily join, but at the end of the day, it just wasn’t worth my time to think about it further, so I paid the money to just move on - believe me I threatened them with lots of legal action. It’s absolutely absurd and they’re clearly lying (I have never seen so many software updates that we have no control over), but I just moved on from the stress because I was so pissed it was ruining my month.
Hi. Wondering if you ever contacted a lawyer? I have been having the same issues since w my screen since my bike was just over a year old (hence out of warranty). I absolutely refuse to pay for a new screen. I have been in contact w peloton customer service multiple times but they will not replace the screen since it is their policy. I am interested in starting a class action suit and considering their recent legal woes, this is clearly not the elite brand they claim to be.
