Watts dropping out?

2696 Views 9 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Npwiley
Hi all,

Has anyone seen their watts dropping out? So if I’m at very steady 200 watts, cadence 100, randomly my watts will drop by 30, down to 170, sometimes lower, then spike back up to 200+ Really annoying because I like power zone training.

I thought it was me, maybe I’m letting go of the power but I don’t think so, also, tech support agreed it was weird because my cadence doesn’t change.

My frame has been replaced 3 times, the first replacement was a bearing issue, but since then, I notice these drop outs. I have had a subsequent frame change, so pretty sure it’s not the frame? and I am now waiting for a new screen.

Wondered if anyone else has or has the same issue?

I get this every 90 seconds or so did you find a fix?

I just bought a bike+ and experiencing the same issue, did you ever find a solution?
Logged a support call with peloton and they asked for a video and think replacing the metrics cable will sort it.

Thx shardsta….I’ll try that today

I also have this issue, was support able to fix it?
I've had everything except a new screen and it still does it every 80-90 seconds drops 20-30 output for a couple of seconds then shoots back up. I'm kinda thinking it does it on all bike + but other people don't notice ??
I was happy to see that others have the issue, but if it was bike+ wide I think we would hear more about it. Yes there will be many that would not notice this, but I feel there would still be many that take notice. I will reach out to a few of the people I know with Bike+ to have them look for it. Thanks for your reply!
If you're using third party pedals (Shimano, Look, etc), try putting back the original Peloton pedals and recalibrating. This seem to resolve the issue for me.
I've only had one power zone ride so far, but that issue did not come up at all during the 60 minute ride. Previously, the power would drop every 10 minutes on average.

If this help resolve your issue, please confirm on this thread. I'm sure others will appreciate it.
I've been chasing this issue for 1.5 years and hoping this is finally resolved. If this issue pops back up again, I'll update this thread.

My bike+ is fully stock and have had this issue since delivery. Unfortunately, that is not my issue 😞
